Medicine and Pharmacology for the Dental Practice

This course provides state-of-the-art information that enables the dentist to understand the pathophysiological etiology of a patient's medical history and how their pharmacological treatment may impact the prognosis of dental treatment.

Topics include diabets types I and II, cardiovascular disease states, asthma, various psychological states, hormonal imbalances, various carcinogenic states, sleep apnea, and the effects of aging on the healing response.  The course will take the practitioner from the initial evaluation interview and medical history, patient examination and evaluation of the physician's physical examination through completion of treatment
